Security Industry Association (SIA)

Secretary of Homeland Security influenced several security procedures in her 5 years.

SILVER SPRING, Md. – The Security Industry Association would like to thank Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano for her service and continued support of the security industry over the last 5 years. She has been a key supporter and fighter on a number of contentious issues, including; securing the nation’s borders, tightening airport security procedures, and handling Boston Marathon bombings aftermath. She has been an integral part of assisting SIA in its mission. We wish her the best in her new endeavor as president of the University of California system.

SIA CEO Don Erickson had this to say: “SIA commends Secretary Napolitano for her efforts to manage the varied components of DHS and the department’s all-hazards approach to protecting our nation. Her support for dedicating resources to protect our critical infrastructure, the needs of the first responder community, and to combat the growing threat of cybersecurity are among her many accomplishments as secretary. We respectfully urge the president to quickly put forth a nominee and the Senate to act swiftly on the president’s selection.”
