Recipients of Women in Biometrics Awards to Be Recognized at SIA Honors Night

SIA and SecureIDNews announce 2016 award recipients; winners to be honored at gala event held during ISC East.

Silver Spring, Md. — The Security Industry Association (SIA) and SecureIDNews (a publication of AVISIAN) will salute recipients of the 2016 Women in Biometrics Awards at SIA Honors Night in New York City on Nov. 16. The gala event is held concurrent with ISC East (www.isceast.com ).

The awards were launched to recognize innovative women dedicated to creating a more secure world by guiding the crucial biometric technology market. This year’s awardees include leaders in public and private sector organizations setting high standards for their capable use of biometrics:

  • JoAnn Buscaglia, Research Chemist, Counterterrorism and Forensic Science Research Unit, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
  • Tovah LaDier, Managing Director, International Biometrics and Identity Association (IBIA)
  • Elham Tabassi, Electronics Engineer, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
  • Teresa Wu, Director of Strategic Marketing and Government Relations, MorphoTrak
