SIA New Member Profile: Bearing

Bearing team

New Security Industry Association (SIA) member Bearing is the world’s first software solution purpose-built by physical security leaders on ServiceNow, delivering digital transformation, workflow automation and artificial intelligence (AI) across operations to increase awareness of, respond to and resolve incidents more quickly. The company is remote-first and has team members all over the world.

SIA spoke with Jason Veiock, founder of Bearing, about the company, the security industry and working with SIA.

Tell us the story of your company.

Jason Veiock: Prior to founding Bearing, I am an industry veteran and former senior physical security leader at GoDaddy. Prior to joining GoDaddy, I served in the US Air Force and as a federal agent, and through that experience I was exposed to the value and power of the ServiceNow platform and how it can be applied to the converged security operations. I was introduced to High Alpha, the lead seed round investor by the ServiceNow Corporate Development team, to consider bringing this solution to market as an independent software vendor on the ServiceNow platform.  It’s an incredibly unique scenario and one that partners a best-in-class enterprise software provider with end-user experience to deliver an industry-changing solution.

What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings or your company unique?

JV: We bring the power of the ServiceNow to physical security operations. ServiceNow is best in class for the enterprise at workflow automation, data fabric and artificial intelligence. ServiceNow powers nearly every major enterprise in business today. We leverage and add to a ServiceNow customers data fabric and place physical security right where the business operates. At our core, we are an incident and case management system, but we layer on the ability to manage employee requests, site security assessments and compliance, crisis and major case management and guard force management in a seamless data environment. Most importantly, we can leverage the native AI solutions including cutting-edge agentic AI to automate detection and response across the threat landscape.

What is something we might not know about your company – or something new you are doing in security?

JV: As a ServiceNow independent software vendor we are available as an app for download on the ServiceNow Store. Once downloaded into our customer’s environment, we become a part of their ServiceNow instance and can seamlessly share data across the platform. As a result, we don’t require an ERM or SSO integration, and all the customer’s assets, including locations, technology and key assets, are already there!

What do you think are the biggest opportunities in the security industry right now?

JV: Digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence is front of mind with every C-suite in the world today. It 100% must be front of mind for both security leaders and manufacturers and service providers. Our ability to deliver that native to ServiceNow is incredible. The response from the market has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are excited to showcase our capabilities at ISC West in April.

What does SIA offer that is most important to you/your company? And what do you most hope to get out of your membership with SIA?

JV: We believe in technology and the need to digitally transform physical security.  We love SIA’s leadership in the space and enjoy working with like-minded companies throughout the SIA membership on that journey.  Our founder is an inaugural member of the SIA AI Advisory Board and has found great value in working with other forward-thinking physical security companies in ensuring we leverage the technology effectively and ethically.

How does your organization engage with SIA? What are your plans for involvement in the next year?

JV: In addition to our ISC West participation, I have spoken at several SIA events, including both ISC East and West, Securing New Ground and GovSummit.  We are excited to grow that participation in some of the local events SIA has launched.
