About the Speakers

Kabir Maiga, co-founder of PassiveBolt, is also the founder of the NFID Foundation, which aims to establish and maintain a verifiable data registry, designed to utilize the SSI model for the security industry. With a strong commitment to collaboration, open standards and technical excellence, the NFID Foundation is more than just a consortium – it’s a community spearheading innovation, interoperability and security in the digital age and laying the groundwork for a decentralized, trustworthy and user-centric approach to digital identity.

Edison Shen, SIA’s director of standards and technology, manages and administers SIA’s standards and technical program activities; coordinates with other standards organizations that impact the SIA standards program of work; liaises with the SIA standards committee, subcommittees and working groups to set agendas and build consensus; develops cybersecurity and security technology content for SIA members; researches standards activities and complementary programming; and manages the SIA Standards team. Shen spearheads SIA programs like the SIA Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) standard and its related OSDP Boot Camp and OSDP Verified offerings, as well as projects that align security technologies with industry best practices, standards and guidelines, and serves as the SIA staff liaison for the SIA Cybersecurity Advisory Board.
